THE Social Change Maker Program

What is the Social Change Maker Program?

The Social Change Maker Program at R.I.S.E. is designed to harness the strengths and passions of each student, offering a personalized, one-on-one learning experience with a dedicated facilitator. In this unique program, students take the lead in their learning, using their interests to give back to the community while earning high school credits.

Empowering Students to Make a Difference

Students are encouraged to find an issue they care deeply about and, with the guidance of their facilitator, connect with real-world experts and organizations who share the same concerns. Together, they work to create solutions and take meaningful action. This process not only embeds the Ontario curriculum into each project but also gives students practical experience with problem-solving, critical thinking, and innovation.

What sets this program apart is its flexibility and focus on real-world impact. Youth are not confined to a traditional classroom setting. Instead, they use the world as their library, collaborating with local, national, and global organizations to make a difference. Along the way, they develop essential future-ready skills like communication, creativity, and leadership.
